Child and adolescent mental health challenges are at a point of crisis for our nation. Globally, it is estimated that one in seven children aged 10-19 years old experience mental health conditions, yet these remain largely unrecognized and untreated, according to the Institute of health Metrics and Evaluation.
Our partners at SportGait recognize this crisis and acted by adding a Stress, Anxiety, and Depression (S.A.D.) assessment to their FREE mobile app.
Earlier this month, the soccer community nationwide was truly saddened by the news of Stanford goalkeeper Katie Meyer’s death. NCYSA sends our deepest condolences to Katie’s family, friends, and teammates. NCYSA recognizes that now, more than ever, the importance of talking about mental health cannot be overstressed.
Through NCYSA’s partnership with SportGait, all NCYSA players and their families have FREE access to the SportGait SAD (stress, anxiety, and depression) screener.
We encourage our coaches, parents, and players to understand the benefits of talking about mental health and encourage everyone to utilize the SportGait SAD screener to help identify mental health challenges in their children, players, teammates, loved ones, and themselves.
Please consider enroling your families to learn more, download the app and complete the SAD screener for their athlete today.
Our goal is to ensure all our parents and athletes have access to comprehensive support and guidance. Help us achieve this goal and keep your athletes safe at the same time! SportGait’s innovative technology allows every player to complete a multi-faceted assessment, including a detailed gait analysis, conveniently from their home.
We are pleased to announce that SportGait has extended the free use of their screeners! This offer enables every NCYSA family to download the SportGait app and for FREE, complete a baseline concussion test and the SAD screener from the convenience of your home.
